Choc Chip Oaty Bar Slice

Craving something sweet? This oaty bar serves up as the perfect post-workout snack or as an afternoon pick-me-up.  Filled with wholegrains, fresh fruit, nuts, and seeds, this slice is a great low-sugar alternative.


  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1-cup wholegrain or gluten-free flour
  • 2 eggs (lightly beaten)
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 1-cup milk
  • ¾ cup mixed nuts (sliced almonds, walnuts)
  • ½ cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 mashed banana
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ cup cacao nibs or dark chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp mixed seeds (linseeds, flaxseeds, sunflower, pumpkin)


  1. Preheat the oven to 180C (350 F)
  2. Place all the dry ingredients into a large bowl and mix well
  3. Stir in all the wet ingredients, cacao nibs, and nuts
  4. Line a long baking tray with baking paper and pour the mixture into the tray, smoothing down the surface
  5. Bake in the oven for 45 minutes or until golden brown. Set aside to cool
  6. Once the slice has cooled, cut into slices to serve

Makes approximately 10-12 slices.
